You Can Be Pregnant and Look Fabulous Too!
Some women feel better than others do when they are pregnant. This does not mean that you should just let yourself go and not take care of yourself for 9 months. The bottom line is that you can be pregnant and look fabulous, too. There is absolutely no reason why a woman should go out into the public and not have the glow on her face that most women do when they are expecting whether it be her first baby, or her fourth or fifth. When you are pregnant, you may not be feeling your best, but your boss and your co-workers do not need to know this. You need to dress your best no matter how big your belly is getting and no matter how you are truly feeling on the inside. This way, if you desire, your job will still be available and waiting for you when your maternity leave is over. If you walk into work with a big baggy shirt on over a pair of maternity jeans and sandals, this will tell your boss that you do not care how you are representing the company.
Just because there is a 5, 6 or 7 in front of the numbers signifying a senior’s age doesn’t mean s/he has to sit around displaying no energy or vitality. Vibrant seniors are working, playing and enjoying life to the utmost on no more than a health screening once per year. They eat healthy foods, exercise and sleep well. They are done with the various stresses of life and are taking the time to do hobbies they’ve always loved; traveling, meeting new people and spending quality time with their families. How do they do it?

A regular health assessment does more than just alert the senior that s/he is good to go for another year. Working out the emotions and mental capacities can be as fun as learning a sport, doing an activity you’ve never done or starting your own social network. The time is there, so seniors could fill it with fun instead of worrying about those numbers.
The point is to remain healthy naturally, using your knowledge, experience, activities and natural foods to help feel your best at any age.

1) Eat breakfast and don’t skip meals.
You’ve heard this before. Yeah, you may be in a hurry to catch the bus or make it out the door to get to work on time, but you can’t miss the first meal of the day. Skipping breakfast actually makes your metabolism slow down because your body thinks it is fasting. Even if you don’t like traditional breakfast food, eat a quick bowl of cereal before you leave. If you are too “starved” for time, bring an apple or toast on the road. Eating your meals on a regular schedule keeps your metabolism running at an ideal rate.
2) Drink water and green tea.
Water needs to be a daily fixture for your body. Every now and again while you’re working, trade in your soda or coffee at work for a bottle of water or a cup of green tea. Water cleanses your system and green tea is actually proven to boost your metabolism. Studies have shown that antioxidants in green tea can cause the body to waste calories as heat, which will increase the amount of calories burned.
3) Spice up your life.
No, literally. Keep a jar of red pepper flakes to put on your pizza, pasta, or other meals. The compound capsaicin (it gives chili peppers the mouth-searing quality) helps speed up your metabolism. A tablespoon of red or green chili peppers per day spikes your body’s production of heat and surprisingly enough, the activity of your sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight reaction). So if you can simply eat the heat, you can boost your metabolism approximately 23%.
4) Include protein in all of your meals.
Instead of carbs or fats, try to eat protein in healthy doses each meal. Proteins make your body work harder to digest them, which in turn speeds up your metabolism.
Obviously. This one might actually take a little effort, but it’s clear that exercising regularly improves your metabolism significantly. Get outside and jog once a day, join a sports league, or sign up for a gym membership! Taking the initiative to be physically active is the single-most important aspect to improving your metabolism.
